Types of Cancer

Bladder Cancer

Bladder cancer is a cancerous tumor in the bladder. The bladder is the organ in the center of the lower abdomen that holds urine.

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is cancer of the lymphoid tissue, which includes the lymph nodes, spleen, and other organs of the immune system.

Bone Tumors

A bone tumor is an abnormal growth of cells within the bone that may be noncancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant).

Oral Cancer

Oral cancer most commonly involves the tissue of the lips or the tongue. Smoking and other tobacco use are linked to 70 - 80% of oral cancer cases. Heavy alcohol use is also associated with an increased risk for oral cancer.

Brain Tumor

A primary brain tumor is a group (mass) of abnormal cells located in the brain. The tumor can either originate in the brain itself, or come from another part of the body.

Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is cancer that starts in the ovaries. The ovaries are the female reproductive organs that produce eggs.

Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the tissues of the breast. Early detection is possible through yearly mammograms.

Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic carcinoma is cancer of the pancreas. The pancreas is a large organ that is found behind the stomach that helps you absorb foods and control blood sugar levels.

Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is cancer that starts in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus (womb) that opens at the top of the vagina. 

Pituitary Tumor

A pituitary tumor is an abnormal growth in the pituitary gland, the part of the brain that regulates the body's balance of hormones.

Colorectal Cancer

Colon, or colorectal cancer is cancer that starts in the large intestine (colon) or the rectum (end of the colon).

Other types of cancer can affect the colon, such as lymphoma, carcinoid tumors, melanoma, and sarcomas. These are rare. In this article, use of the term "colon cancer" refers to colon carcinoma only.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is cancer that starts in the prostate gland. The prostate is a small, walnut-sized structure that makes up part of a man's reproductive system. It wraps around the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body.

Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal cancer is a cancerous (malignant) tumor of the esophagus, the muscular tube that moves food from the mouth to the stomach.

Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells. If left unchecked, these cancer cells can spread from the skin into other tissues and organs.

Hodgkin's lymphoma

Hodgkin's lymphoma is a cancer of lymph tissue found in the lymph nodes, spleen, liver, bone marrow, and other sites.

Stomach Cancer

Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, is cancer that starts in any part of the stomach.

Kidney Cancer

Renal cell carcinoma is a type of kidney cancer in which the cancerous cells are found in the lining of very small tubes (tubules) in the kidney.

Testicular Cancer

Testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in men between the ages of 15 and 35. It can occur in older men, and rarely, in younger boys.

Leukemia

Leukemia is a group of cancers that begins in the blood forming cells of the bone marrow.

Thyroid Cancer

Thyroid cancer is a cancerous growth of the thyroid gland. Thyroid cancer can occur in all age groups.

Liver Cancer

Liver cancer, also known as hepatocellular carcinoma, is not the same as metastatic liver cancer, which starts in another organ (such as the breast or colon) and spreads to the liver.

Uterine Cancer

Uterine cancer, also known as endometrial cancer, is cancer that starts in the endometrium, the lining of the uterus (womb).

Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is cancer that starts in the lungs.

When you breathe, air goes through your nose, down your windpipe (trachea), and into the lungs, where it spreads through tubes called bronchi. Most lung cancer begins in the cells that line these tubes.

Vaginal Cancer

A vaginal tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue in the vagina, a female reproductive organ.
